THE STAKES HAVE NEVER BEEN HIGHER

 

Following a record breaking 2023-24 season which saw over one million fans through the turnstiles at games across both leagues, and attendance and viewership numbers surpassed on a regular basis, the stakes in the women’s professional game truly have never been higher. We needed to launch the Barclays Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Championship in a way that captivates just how competitive the leagues and their players are.

We gathered stars from 20 different teams for the first time ever, including Sam Kerr (Chelsea), Fran Kirby (Brighton and Hove Albion), Jordan Nobbs (Aston Villa), Katie McCabe (Arsenal) and Hannah Blundell (Manchester United), then split them into two teams (red & blue) to play keepy-uppy on a rooftop in a major city. The last woman to let the ball hit the ground wins… The stakes have literally never been higher.

The campaign is being distributed via BWSL and BWC organic social channels, while also being featured across VOD and OOH.

 

WHERE GREATNESS LIVES

Our latest Season Launch campaign for the Barclay’s Women’s Super League, WHERE GREATNESS LIVES was born out of the insight that there were more players at the 2023 Women’s World Cup than from any other league in the word.

Designed to show that the BWSL is home to the world’s elite and featuring some of the league’s biggest starts, the campaign ran across TV, OOH, radio and social, building excitement and anticipation ahead of the new season.

 

UNSTOPPABLE

The campaign built off the success of the Euros whilst launching the FA Barclays Women’s Super League’s new brand platform ’UNSTOPPABLE’. It was designed to demonstrate that women’s football is no longer on a journey – it’s here and getting bigger and better and if you’re not watching, you’re missing out.

Packed full of the biggest names, moments, stories and rivalries in the game, the TV commercial is a fast-paced, visually energetic, living breathing collage. From worldy goals and saves, to ferocious tackles, the film is all set to a bespoke track created using match day commentary.

The unstoppable story continued on social, digital and OOH, including some of the most stand-out sites across London, Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool.

 

IT’S ALL KICKING OFF

In its biggest awareness driving campaign ever, the FA used the start of the 2021/22 Barclays Women’s Super League season to focus on the growth of the women’s game.

We wanted to move away from it being a league that people feel they should watch out of a sense of charity or obligation, to making it an active choice because of the high-octane passion, skill and electrifying entertainment value.

By enlisting its biggest stars, the film showcases the competitiveness of the Super League.

Set on a typical photography shoot, the scene descends into mayhem when a football is introduced and an impromptu game suddenly kicks off. Cue smashed lights, balls to the face and tables destroyed as the melee ensues.
